Discusion for February 22, 2012

Holy Spirit

Read Acts 1:7-8

Think about this, Have you received the Holy Spirit? If have not accepted Christ than we certainly need to and can talk about what that means. For most us, if we are christians, we have the Holy Spirit inside us.

The video said, you’ve got millions of people who claim to be Christians, or followers of Jesus Christ, and yet their lives look nothing like His, and they don’t seem to be concerned about it.

Think about this, Does your life look like Jesus’ life? Does your answer concern you?

The Video said, Maybe the biggest concern with the church today is this apparent lack of the Holy Spirit’s power.

Do you even think about the Holy Spirit when you think of what is wrong with the church today?

How do we begin to remedy this? (It starts with us personally.) Seeking the Spirit when we worship, read our bibles, and Pray. We can’t sit back and expect someone else to change the situation. We have to be and start the change!

Read Acts 2:2-8

Have you ever witnessed amazement and bewilderment among nonbelievers at your church gatherings?

Read Acts 4:32-25

Why is it that in the church so many people are weak or defeated or we get so insecure because we look at ourselves rather than God?

Do you find yourself looking at yourself for help rather than God?

Where does that lead or leave you?

Read John 16:8-11

This verse should be good news to us. Because the pressure is off of us to be the ones to make a difference in the world. It is the Holy Spirit’s Job to convict and we just have to be faithful to His calling and specific purposes.

Lets end with a moment of prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit that is inside of us to give us a healthy view and fear of God that leads us to tap into that Holy Spirit power each and every day. Pray that the Holy Spirit gives Unity to this Church and youth ministry and that we watch in amazement the revival that is going to take place in the future of this place.
